South African Amapiano producer Xduppy has released his latest single, “Lwetse”, featuring DJ Maphorisa, Mluusician, and Angekebabuye MC. The track follows his breakout hit “Bang’bonile” and shifts focus to themes of ambition, hustle, and the relentless pursuit of financial freedom.
Built on rolling log drums, punchy basslines, and bright synths, “Lwetse” delivers pure Amapiano energy. The title is drawn from the Sesotho word “bolwetse,” meaning “illness” – a metaphor for the obsessive hunger for success. Anchored in the phrase “ke batla mokotla” (“I want the bag”), the song speaks to the drive for money and a better life. The single artwork, featuring Xduppy holding a stack of cash, reinforces this message.
“Lwetse” has already surged to No. 2 on Apple Music charts and secured the No. 1 cover spot on Spotify’s New Amapiano playlist. An extended version, “Lwetse 2.0,” featuring Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, and Benzoo, was released in April 2026.
Born Gomolemo Joy Gumede in Hammanskraal, Xduppy first gained attention with the double-platinum single “Bhebha” in 2023. Now at 25, he is signed to Kgaday Records and mentored by DJ Maphorisa.
